Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Antioch, CA
Duration: 3 Months+ of contract with possibility of extension
Pay Rate: $ 53.00/hr. on W2
Job Description:
Uses radiation to treat patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Specific duties include:
- Checking patient information.
- Preparing room and equipment.
- Communicating with patient.
- Transferring patient.
- Performing radiation treatment.
- Maintaining schedule.
- Maintaining supplies.
- Keeping records.
- Assisting with teaching.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Min 2 years of experience.
- Experience with EMR, treatment delivery, and imaging systems.
- A developing therapist Producting knowledge and skills with the principles of growth and development of a patient life span, assessing data reflective of patient’s status and interpretation of information relative to age-specific needs.
- Knowledge of medical office operations and medical terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook.
Job Complexity:
- Implements prescription and treatment plan as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Operates therapeutic equipment, demonstrating proper patient positioning and monitoring of the patient during procedures which are semi-routine in nature.
- Performs daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures.
- Accurately completes and charts simulation and treatment summaries, reports and documentations.
Minimum Required Certifications and Training:
- Graduation from an AART approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Supervision: Normally follows established procedures on day-to-day work.
- AART Certification.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Maintains registration in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the state licensing authority of the state which the clinic is located.
Typical Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy or related field.
- Graduation from an AART approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- AART Certification.
- Valid CPR certification.
- 2-3 years of work experience as a certified/licensed radiation therapist.
