Job Title: Travel: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT/CLS/MLT)
Location: Corpus Christi, TX 78404
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule:
- Multiple shifts available
- Day Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Evening Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures including specimen processing, testing, calculations, and reporting of results
- Conduct quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, and perform minor repairs or notify Bio-med as needed
- Cross-train in other laboratory sections as required
- Calculate, enter, and verify laboratory test results
- Utilize Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Notify and document critical laboratory values
- Process patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distribution
- Participate in evaluation, development, and implementation of updated testing procedures and protocols
- Perform patient-oriented tasks, including phlebotomy if needed
- Maintain compliance with client policies, regulations, and core values
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a generalist preferred
- Experience with Sysmex, Client Alinity, and EPIC is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor s degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science / medical technology from an accredited institution
OR - Equivalent laboratory training/experience meeting CLIA regulation 42 CFR 493.1489 requirements
OR - International education evaluated and deemed equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor s degree in laboratory science
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certification required: MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT through ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS
- Must maintain active/current certification if expiration applies
Preferences:
- Minimum 3 years generalist experience preferred
- Experience with Sysmex, Client Alinity, and EPIC preferred
