Location: Moreno Valley, CA
Contract: 13-Week | 36 Hours/Week
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Pay Local: $80 – $90/hr – W2
Pay Travel: $2500 – $3000 Gross weekly
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift contract opportunity in Moreno Valley, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong neonatal intensive care experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment. Candidates with previous PEDS/PICU experience are highly preferred as floating may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License
- BLS Certification
- NRP Certification
- Minimum 3 years of NICU experience
- Preferred: PEDS/PICU experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and throughout each shift
- Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications safely using the 7 rights of medication administration
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and interventions
- Operate bedside monitoring equipment and assist with mechanical ventilator management
- Perform age-appropriate assessments and neonatal care procedures
- Calculate fluid and nutritional intake accurately
- Obtain blood samples via heel stick, venipuncture, and central lines
- Assist with UAC line setup, calibration, waveform interpretation, and documentation
- Communicate patient condition changes promptly using SBAR communication
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and discharge education
- Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency response protocols including Code Blue, Code Pink, Code Red, and HazMat procedures
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital standards
Additional Skills & Competencies
- Strong neonatal assessment and critical care skills
- Familiarity with NICU protocols and procedures
- Ability to recognize and respond to abnormal neonatal vital signs
- Knowledge of blood transfusion procedures and restraint protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
