Position Summary
The Sunquest Analyst – Testing Consultant will support testing efforts for a Sunquest Laboratory Information System (LIS) upgrade (v2024.2). This role is responsible for executing comprehensive test planning, validation, defect management, and coordination with clinical, technical, and vendor teams to ensure a safe and compliant system deployment.
The consultant will work closely with laboratory operations, IT, and vendor partners to validate system functionality across General Lab, Blood Bank and Microbiology workflows, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Validation Execution
Develop and execute test scripts, test cases, and validation plans for Sunquest LIS workflows
Perform functional, integration, and regression testing across laboratory modules (Gen Lab, Micro, Blood Bank, interfaces)
Validate test results, reference ranges, flags, and workflows to ensure clinical accuracy
Support defect tracking, triage, and resolution coordination with vendors and internal teams
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure testing aligns with CAP, CLIA, and organizational validation requirements
Support documentation for audit readiness, including test evidence and validation traceability
Participate in validation sign-off processes
System & Workflow Expertise
Validate:
o Orderables, panels, and result structures
o Instrument interfaces and middleware integrations
o Result routing, reporting, and downstream systems (e.g., Epic)
Collaborate with SMEs to ensure workflows accurately reflect clinical operations
Project & Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with:
o Laboratory SMEs (Core Lab, Blood Bank, Microbiology)
o IT application teams (interfaces)
o Vendors (e.g., Clinisys Sunquest)
Participate in test cycles, status updates, and issue resolution meetings
Maintain clear documentation and communication of testing progress and risks

Required Qualifications
5 years of experience with Sunquest LIS (Clinisys Sunquest preferred)
Strong experience in LIS testing, validation, and QA methodologies
Hands-on experience with:
o Laboratory workflows (Core Lab and/or Blood Bank preferred)
o Interface/instrument testing
Experience supporting system upgrades or implementations
Familiarity with defect tracking tools and structured testing processes

Experience with Sunquest upgrades or multi-site implementations
Experience in Blood Bank validation workflows
Understanding of clinical regulatory requirements (CAP/CLIA)

Duration: ~3 months (June–September range)
