Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Float
Location: Fairfield, CT
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Duration: 3 Months
Pay Rate: $19–$21/hour
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float is responsible for collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing excellent patient care across multiple locations. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric blood collections.
- Prepare and process specimens according to established procedures.
- Travel between multiple sites to provide coverage as needed.
- Support daily operations of patient service centers and physician offices.
- Serve as a mentor, trainer, and resource for new staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and data entry.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and patient care.
- Collaborate with internal teams including laboratory, billing, logistics, and IT.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- At least 3 years of PSC/IOP experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and computer/data entry skills.
