Job Description/Summary:
The Contract Development & Manufacturing Operations (CDMO) team within Client provides business excellence, process management, digital innovation, and data analytics services to support the management of assigned external manufacturing organizations. We are a strategic and collaborative group dedicated to ensuring our manufacturing partners achieve production Clients on-time, within budget, and in consistent compliance with cGMP quality standards to support global patient supply.
We are seeking a Principal/Senior CDMO Business Excellence Manager with a strong grasp of project management, continuous improvement methodologies, and data analytics tools, as well as the ability to design and implement robust, harmonized business processes. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in driving large-scale change initiatives, leveraging digitalization/data solutions for operational insights, and managing complex programs like Risk Management, Issue Management, and External Artwork Management.
Given the collaborative and matrixed nature of our team, we are looking for someone with an agile mindset, a knack for thriving in ambiguous and complex environments, and the ability to effectively influence stakeholders across a broad internal and external network without direct authority.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional programs and governance processes across CDMO chapters, including Risk Management, Issue Management, and Project Portfolio Management.
Standardize, harmonize, and streamline operational, systematic, and compliance-driven reporting solutions across the internal and external manufacturing network.
Manage centralized external artwork management and brand protection activities, acting as a primary interface for packaging CMOs and Client-internal stakeholders.
Identify, prioritize, and execute complex Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to optimize, stabilize, and radically simplify end-to-end supply processes.
Collect, mine, and interpret internal operational and external market data to establish performance KPIs, predict outcomes, and maintain leadership dashboards.
Facilitate the development, adoption, and scaling of ‘fit for purpose’ digital tools in alignment with the PT Digital Roadmap to accelerate decision-making.
Coordinate multi-site CAPAs, address regulatory or internal audit findings, and support Site Managers with operational bottleneck resolutions and decommissioning activities.
Align and execute CDMO communication strategies, managing organizational change management plans, intranet tools, and network-wide engagement events.
Qualification/Experience Required:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in a relevant Engineering, Life Sciences, or related scientific discipline.
5 years of experience in manufacturing/packaging-[wbr]related industry, pharma project management, or operations excellence consulting.
Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience applying continuous improvement processes, Six Sigma tools, and Lean methodologies.
Deep functional expertise in at least one key domain: data/predictive analytics, digital excellence, project management, or organizational change management.
Proficiency in data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense) and enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Veeva).
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMI), AgilePM, or equivalent proven project management experience.
Strong cross-functional agility across a broad Product of Supply Chain, Quality Management, and internal/external Manufacturing functions.
Experience running and facilitating business operations for leadership teams, including agendas, action tracking, and capability building.
Mandatory Skills Required – technical/non-technical:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related scientific discipline with 5 years of pharma industry or consulting experience.
Proven ability to lead leaders, operate within a matrix team environment, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Demonstrated competence in Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies, structured problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
Proficiency in digital/data tools and analytics software to drive digitization of complex business processes.
Nice to Have Skills Required – technical/non-technical:
Formal certification in Project Management (PMI) or AgilePM methodologies.
Experience acting as a Global Business Process Manager (gBPM) or Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for global artwork management communities.

Note: This is an onsite role. Candidate will be required to work 3 days every week at the Mississauga location.
