WEEKEND REQ: 4 weekends/ six weeks with two Mondays and Two Fridays
PATIENT RATIO: 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4. CNAs support our 1:4 patient assignments.
Level 4 NICU ranging from feeder growers to complex ICU neonatal patients.

Summary:

ThecompetentNurse,inthesameorsimilarclinicalsetting,practicesindependentlyanddemonstratesanawarenessofallrelevantaspectsofasituation.Providesroutineandcomplexcare,withtheabilitytoonlong-rangegoalsorplans.Continuestodeveloptheabilitytocopewithandmanagecontingenciesofclinicalnursing.Makesappropriateassignmentsanddelegatestoothercareprovidersasameanstohelpmanagetheclinicalsituation.

Responsibilities:

• MeetsexpectationsoftheapplicableOneCHRISTUSCompetencies:LeaderofSelf,LeaderofOthers,orLeaderofLeaders.
• ConsistentwiththeANAProductandStandardsofPractice,providesnursingcareutilizingthenursingprocess,includingassessment,diagnosis,planning,interventionandevaluationforassignedpatients.
• Addressesincreasinglycomplexpsychological,emotional,cultural,andsocialneedsofpatientandfamiliesinaccordancewiththeirlevelofpractice.
• Usingtheappropriateprotocol,administersmedicationsandtreatments;monitorsforside-effectsandeffectivenessofthetreatmentprescribed.
• Documentspatienthistory,symptoms,medication,andcaregiven.
• Assesslearningneedsandprovideseducationtopatients,familymembersand/orcaregivers;identifyissuesandresources.

PositionRequirements:

Education/Skills

• AllnewlyhiredexperiencedRNsmustattendNewNursesOrientationwithinthefirst30daysofhire.
• Newhiresarepreceptedbyadesignatedtrainedstaffmemberandinitialon-boardingrequirementsarevalidatedthroughsuccessfulcompletionofthedesignatedorganizationalentrycompetencyvalidationandaPerinatalServices-specificcompetencyvalidation.
• Completionofallannualcompetencyverificationrequirements.

Experience

• PerinatalRNResidency,orrecentlypracticinginaPerinatalSettingispreferred.
