Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Norcross, GA, 30071
Duration: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Eastern Time)
Job Summary:
- The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection and specimen processing duties. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a positive patient experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens through venipuncture, capillary, and other approved collection methods.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Ensure accurate specimen labeling and obtain patient verification/signature after collection.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
- Create a professional, safe, and patient-focused environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, clients, and healthcare professionals.
- Support operations at Patient Service Centers (PSC), physician offices, and other assigned locations.
- Travel to multiple locations and provide coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Strong specimen processing and handling experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or related medical training.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required only in certain states).
- 2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment.
- Previous customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service industries.
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable).
- Flexibility to travel between multiple work locations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work assignments.
