Job Summary
The Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Service Representative (PSR I) – Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) plays a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position primarily supports the front lobby by greeting patients, assisting with check-in processes, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
The role also includes supporting clinical staff by performing phlebotomy duties when needed, such as covering breaks or staffing gaps. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and compassion for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in using kiosks or handheld devices
- Provide guidance, support, and reassurance to patients while maintaining a compassionate approach
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall integrity of the waiting/lobby area
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding procedures and wait times
- Assist phlebotomy staff by covering breaks and performing specimen collection as needed
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of patient records
- Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment
- Uphold confidentiality and accuracy of patient information at all times
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required – no exceptions)
- Phlebotomy training (internship/externship acceptable)
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of customer-facing experience (e.g., retail, healthcare support, home health aide) – Required
- Basic phlebotomy experience – Required
- Data entry and keyboarding skills – Required
