Pay Rate: Up to $21.36/hour on W2
Shift: Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Central Time)
Position Summary
- The Phlebotomist II serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing professional specimen collection services while ensuring a positive patient experience. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to established procedures and safety standards.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and specimen collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Ensure specimen labels are accurate and confirm labeling with patients following collection.
- Maintain required records, documentation, and patient confidentiality.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Create a professional, welcoming environment for patients and clients.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
- Support multiple collection sites as needed based on business requirements.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and leadership.
- Maintain a positive and professional image of the organization.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience with paediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections required.
- Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
- Data entry and keyboarding experience required.
