Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. The Phlebotomist II serves as the face of the organization by providing exceptional patient care and delivering high-quality specimen collection services. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will collect and process blood specimens accurately, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure compliance with established clinical and safety procedures while creating a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, and routine blood collections safely and accurately.
- Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
- Maintain required documentation, records, and specimen tracking information.
- Follow all clinical, forensic, and specimen processing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service while establishing trust and confidence with patients.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Support process improvement initiatives and demonstrate organizational leadership behaviors.
- Travel between multiple locations as needed and provide coverage with minimal notice.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Area Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Strong specimen handling and processing knowledge.
- Proficiency with keyboarding and data entry.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service setting highly preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as business needs require.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to travel between Patient Service Centers and physician office locations.
