Logistics Technician III

Duration: 6 months, possibility of extension
Pay: $21 hourly
Schedule: Monday – Friday, B Shift – 2:00pm – 10:30pm EST

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the completion of production administrative work, building sanitation, and logistic tasks. Applies training and skills to perform various tasks that support production and trains others in operations, techniques, and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs operations in compliance with work instructions.

  • Completes production logistics by moving and transacting information through production systems.

  • Performs building sanitation tasks and maintains a clean work environment.

  • Prepares material for operations and/or logistical tasks.

  • Interfaces with plant systems (e.g., document control, manufacturing execution system).

  • Communicates effectively and updates/maintains records as needed.

  • Trains others in responsibilities.

  • Performs van runs between Fairport buildings (Building 57 & Building 430) to support operational needs.

  • Utilizes Vertical Lift Module (VLM) and mobile racking for picking.

  • Operates manual pallet jacks and carts to move materials safely and efficiently.

  • Performs other Production Support I responsibilities as needed.

Working Conditions

  • Good working conditions.

  • Frequently lifts or moves materials up to 5 pounds.

  • Occasionally lifts or moves materials up to 15 pounds.

  • Rarely lifts or moves materials more than 25 pounds.

  • Minimal exposure to disagreeable elements.

  • Cleanroom environment prevalent.

  • Personal protective equipment required, including but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, and cleanroom garments (frock, gloves, facemask, etc.).

Additional Requirements

  • Driver’s license required.

  • Van runs between Fairport buildings (Building 57 & Building 430) occur throughout the day to transport parts and materials.

  • Depending on operational needs, there may be 1–4 runs during a shift, sometimes more during busy periods.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Experience

  • 1–2+ years of work experience preferred.

  • No manufacturing experience required; applicable transferable experience desired (e.g., shipping or warehouse experience).

  • Experience with SAP desired but not required.
