Location: Mays Landing, NJ 08330
Position Type: Contract 03 Months
Work Schedule: Flexible (May include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime)
Travel Requirement: Required – Must be able to cover multiple locations with minimal notice

 
Job Summary:

  • The Phlebotomist III – Floater serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing high-quality blood specimen collections and processing. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently across various Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician office locations. The successful candidate will maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while ensuring a positive patient experience.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, clinical, and forensic specimen collections following established procedures.
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Verify patient identification, demographics, and obtain required patient signatures.
  • Ensure specimens are accurately labeled in the patient's presence.
  • Maintain all required documentation and records in compliance with company policies.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and create a comfortable, professional environment for patients.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Support multiple Patient Service Centers and physician office locations as business needs require.
  • Adhere to safety, confidentiality, compliance, and quality assurance standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image of the organization.

 
Required Qualifications:
Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington)

 
Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
  • Data entry and keyboarding experience preferred.

 
Required Skills:

  • Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent patient interaction and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work locations and schedules.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.

 
Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required (if applicable).
  • Ability to travel between multiple work sites with minimal notice.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and professional appearance guidelines.
