Job Title: Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM CST
Duration: 3 Months
Job Summary:
The Specimen Processing Technician I supports daily laboratory specimen processing in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities include specimen receiving, sorting, data entry, centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging, and transporting specimens. Accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Perform high-volume data entry (6,000+ alphanumeric keystrokes/hour).
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and adapt to changing priorities.
- Work in a biohazard environment and stand or sit for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer and data entry skills required.
- Laboratory, medical, or specimen processing experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology or hospital laboratory operations is a plus.
Additional Information:
- On-site position (not remote).
- Weekend, holiday, overtime, and on-call availability may be required based on business needs.
- COVID-19 vaccination not required.
