Job Title: Medical Receptionist
Location: Cincinnati, OH 45219
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: MondayβFriday, 7:30 AMβ4:00 PM (may vary slightly based on provider start time), 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer and route incoming phone calls and messages.
- Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, physician visits, diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries.
- Manage physician calendars using Outlook.
- Perform patient check-in/check-out and complete patient registration.
- Verify insurance coverage (primary, secondary, tertiary) and obtain required patient documentation.
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; maintain and reconcile cash drawer.
- Verify referrals and complete pre-certifications.
- Update and maintain patient demographic and financial information in the EMR.
- Scan documents and physician orders into the Electronic Medical Record.
- Manage EMR work queues.
- Type, fax, mail correspondence, patient letters, and new patient paperwork.
- Order office supplies and maintain a clean reception/front office area.
- Greet patients and visitors while providing excellent customer service.
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1β3 years of customer service experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, copier, fax, telephone systems, and general office equipment.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Practice Management Systems.
- Knowledge of health insurance coverage, referrals, and pre-certification processes.
- Basic math skills for handling co-pays and balancing payments.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferences:
- Epic EMR experience preferred.
- In-person interview required.
