Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides life support, resuscitation, patient monitoring, and medical gas therapy. The therapist performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and General Practice units.
The Respiratory Therapist maintains clinical competency while providing coverage across assigned business units. The role requires effective communication with patients, physicians, coworkers, and other healthcare team members regarding patient care needs. Responsibilities also include accurate documentation of all patient care activities, supervision and guidance of respiratory therapists, new hires/orientees, externs, and students as assigned, and completion of accurate patient billing documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience
- Current Respiratory Therapist licensure and certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
