Job Title: Phlebotomist Floater – 1st Shift

Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist Floater to provide phlebotomy support across multiple patient service locations. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering outstanding patient care while maintaining accuracy, safety, and professionalism.
- The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, experience working with diverse patient populations, and the flexibility to travel between assigned locations as needed. This position also serves as a resource for team members by assisting with onboarding, mentoring, and supporting daily operations when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on Pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identity and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Explain collection procedures and provide excellent patient care while maintaining patient comfort.
- Follow established safety, infection control, HIPAA, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Float between multiple patient service centers, physician offices, long-term care facilities, and other assigned locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and mentoring new employees when needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for on-site staff and communicate operational concerns to supervisors.
- Collaborate with internal departments including laboratory operations, logistics, billing, IT, and client services as necessary.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required where applicable by state regulations).
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
- Venipuncture
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting preferred.
- Basic computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
