Radiology Specialist – X-Ray Tech

Contract: 3 Months
Shift: Days | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
The Radiology Specialist performs routine and specialized diagnostic X-ray procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional patient care. This role requires proficiency in radiographic positioning, equipment operation, and adherence to established imaging protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic examinations.
- Verify patient identity, informed consent, and pregnancy status as applicable.
- Prepare and position patients while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Assess patients for contraindications prior to imaging procedures.
- Administer contrast media when required, following physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Operate radiology equipment, RIS, and PACS systems efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation and image quality standards.
- Monitor inventory and maintain adequate imaging supplies.
- Deliver excellent patient care while collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology program (Technical Diploma or equivalent).
- ARRT (Radiography) Certification – R-ARRT (Required)
- Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) – Texas Medical Board (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of Radiology experience (X-ray or multiple imaging modalities).
- Current BLS Certification.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy, positioning, radiation safety, medical terminology, RIS, and PACS.
- Excellent communication, patient care, and customer service skills.
