Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-volume Flu Clinic in Manassas, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience administering vaccinations, providing patient education, and delivering safe, efficient care in an ambulatory or clinic setting. This is an excellent opportunity to support seasonal immunization efforts while working in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer influenza, COVID-19, and other routine immunizations in accordance with CDC and facility guidelines.
- Perform pre-vaccination assessments, including screening for allergies, contraindications, and medical history.
- Educate patients on vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
- Accurately document vaccinations, assessments, and patient interactions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Maintain proper vaccine storage, handling, and cold-chain compliance.
- Prepare and administer intramuscular (IM), subcutaneous (SQ), and other approved injections.
- Maintain inventory of vaccines, supplies, and emergency equipment.
- Follow infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state license).
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in an ambulatory, outpatient, clinic, employee health, urgent care, or similar setting.
- Experience administering immunizations and injections.
- Strong patient assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
