Minimum Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Position Summary
- The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides supportive and restorative nursing care, administers medications, and performs specialized nursing procedures under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or a licensed physician or dentist. The LPN delivers safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care in accordance with established standards of practice.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care in structured, routine patient care situations.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and elimination.
- Perform treatments and routine clinical procedures such as suctioning and urinary catheterization.
- Prepare patients for surgery, diagnostic tests, examinations, and therapeutic procedures.
- Administer medications within the LPN scope of practice.
- Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens accurately.
- Set up intravenous equipment and administer IV solutions through peripheral access devices in accordance with facility policy and scope of practice.
- Administer blood and blood products when appropriately trained and authorized.
- Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition, treatments, medications, incidents, and accidents to the Registered Nurse.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient’s medical record.
- Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing patient care plans.
- Reinforce patient and family education as directed by the RN.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Assist with patient rehabilitation according to the established care plan.
- Promote patient safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
- Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary communication.
- Assist during emergency resuscitation by initiating emergency response procedures, performing Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), and carrying out assigned responsibilities during code situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the LPN scope of practice.

Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience (required).
