Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech/Quality Control Technician
Location: Modesto, CA 95350
Job Duration: 3 Months (Temp to Perm)
Shift Options: 2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM | 40 Hours per Week | 5 Days per Week
Pay: $32/hrs on W2
Job Responsibilities:
• Follow all ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company work instructions.
• Decontaminate used surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate PPE and infection control protocols.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble complex surgical instruments.
• Accurately assemble, inspect, and package instrument trays and surgical sets according to established guidelines.
• Operate washer disinfectors, sterilizers (autoclaves), and other sterile processing equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform detailed quality inspections to verify instrument cleanliness, functionality, completeness, and packaging accuracy before sterilization and distribution.
• Identify, document, and report missing, damaged, or malfunctioning instruments according to department procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological monitoring, instrument tracking, quality inspections, and inventory.
• Handle surgical instruments and customer-owned equipment with care to prevent damage.
• Complete required computer documentation, quality records, and tracking activities accurately and on time.
• Monitor inventory levels of surgical instruments and sterile processing supplies.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of sterile processing equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant workstations and decontamination areas.
• Adhere to infection prevention, quality assurance, and safety standards at all times.
• Communicate effectively with sterile processing staff, operating room personnel, and other departments regarding quality concerns.
• Provide feedback and recommend workflow improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and compliance.
• Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Minimum two (2) years of recent hands-on sterile processing experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST, CIS, or equivalent)
