Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and every other Saturday, 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Pay rate – $21/Hr on W2
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Wallingford, CT. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing excellent patient care while performing blood specimen collection and preparation for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect high-quality blood specimens from patients using established phlebotomy procedures.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing.
- Explain collection procedures clearly and professionally to patients to ensure comfort and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information while adhering to confidentiality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Perform daily assigned tasks accurately and within designated timeframes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate organizational values and promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of performance.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws preferred.
- Prior customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
