Job title: Sr. Software Engineer (.Net & Java) – (W2 only)
Location: Celebration, Florida 34747 (Hybrid – 2 days per week (Tuesdays & Fridays); subject to change)
Duration: 12+ Months contract (with high possibility of extension)
About The Role & Team:
- The Team supports a portfolio anchored by Versonix’s Seaware Reservation System. The portfolio includes mission-critical middleware, applications, scheduled jobs, and reporting. SEAS currently services client
- The studio maintains existing .NET applications alongside greenfield Java/Spring Boot services.
- This role will support ongoing .NET maintenance and participate in .NET-to-Java/Spring Boot migration work.
- You will collaborate with engineers, product partners, and cross-squad SEAS teams as the SEAS Team grows.
What You’ll Do:
- Participate in projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
- Responsible for performing testing and debugging of applications Code may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms
- Code at the component level
- Work typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
- Possess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasks
- Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
- Design, develop, test, and implement highly scalable software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
- Build and support REST middleware integrating enterprise consumers
- Participate in design, testing, deployment, and production support of mission-critical scheduled jobs and services
- Maintain and enhance existing .NET applications in the SEAS portfolio (bug fixes, enhancements, production support)
- Plan and execute migration of .NET services to Java/Spring Boot, including analysis of legacy code, API parity, testing, and cutover support
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of related work experience
- Mastery in Java and experience with industry-standard open-source technologies such as Spring, To Client, Nginx, and Elasticsearch
- Experience with Angular and modern front-end development (TypeScript, component-based architecture, and REST API integration)
- Exposure to C# and .NET (Framework and/or .NET Core)
- Ability to read, debug, and refactor legacy .NET codebases while delivering equivalent Java/Spring implementations
- Comfortable working in an agile environment and experience with Agile delivery (stand-ups, sprint planning, etc.)
- Experience with the full lifecycle of application development, including best practices of unit testing, code reviews, and documentation
- Experience with build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab, Harness CI/CD, and Docker
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, AppDynamics, and Splunk
- Experience working with cloud platforms and container orchestration technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, and Rancher
- Able to work well with external partners and contractors
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with strangler-fig or incremental migration patterns (parallel run, feature flags, phased cutover)
- Familiarity with event-driven and messaging architectures (e.g., Kafka, SNS/SQS, JMS, or similar)
- Knowledge of security best practices for APIs and distributed systems, including OAuth, JWT, TLS, and Products management
