Job Title: RN ICU – Cardiovascular
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: Days | 12-hour shifts | 3 days/week | 36 hours/week
Required: Impella, IABP (balloon pump), CRRT, post-open-heart day 2 care, and ECMO experience
Job Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular and other health conditions.
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of ICU patients.
• Monitor and document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
• Monitor physiological data and recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Provide competent patient care and support recovery following open-heart procedures.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced cardiovascular and critical-care therapies.
• Communicate the plan of care with patients and families.
• Educate patients and families regarding hospital procedures and discharge care.
• Make appropriate referrals regarding patient care needs.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing OR current multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Strong organizational, communication, and clinical assessment skills.
• Experience with Impella and balloon pump/IABP.
• Experience with CRRT.
• Experience caring for post-open-heart patients, particularly day 2 postoperative care.
• ECMO experience.

Preferences:

• BSN or higher preferred.
• Proficiency with Impella, IABP, CRRT, ECMO, and post-open-heart cardiovascular ICU care.
