Schedule: Mon – Fri 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/ Week) EST.
Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III – Floater / Patient Services Representative III (PSR III) to provide high-quality patient care and specimen collection services across multiple locations in the Chicago area.
- The Phlebotomist III – Floater will be responsible for performing accurate and safe blood collections, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, verifying patient information, maintaining documentation, and providing an exceptional patient experience. This role requires flexibility to travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality venipuncture, Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing.
- Verify patient identification, demographic information, and required documentation.
- Obtain patient initials/signatures following venipuncture to verify proper specimen labeling.
- Maintain accurate patient records and required documentation.
- Provide patients with clear explanations of procedures and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, professional, and patient-focused environment.
- Demonstrate strong attention to confidentiality, accuracy, and quality.
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Travel between multiple Patient Service Centers and in-office phlebotomy locations as required.
- Adapt quickly to changing staffing needs and assignments.
- Handle multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, Employee Health & Safety requirements, dress code, and quality standards.
- Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, customer service, and leadership behaviors.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of phlebotomy experience – Required.
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required.
- Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Strong venipuncture and specimen-processing skills.
- Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions using established procedures and good judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability and willingness to travel between multiple work locations.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime as required.
