Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) to support patient specimen collection and processing. The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, excellent patient-service abilities, and experience working with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• The Phlebotomist II serves as a key point of contact for patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, accurately processing and labeling samples, maintaining documentation, and ensuring a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection accurately and safely.
• Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
• Perform Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain required signatures/initials following specimen collection.
• Ensure specimens are properly labelled in the patient’s presence and verify accuracy of patient information.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and processing.
• Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
• Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate service to patients.
• Explain collection procedures clearly and help create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and confidentiality standards.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and process excellence in a high-volume environment.
• Work independently with minimal onsite supervision.
• Support multiple patient service centers and/or in-office phlebotomy locations as business needs require.
• Travel between locations and work flexible hours when needed, including occasional weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, and overtime.
• Maintain a positive and professional image when interacting with patients, clients, coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
• Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
• Keyboarding and data-entry experience.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and accurately handle sensitive information.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, when applicable.
• Flexibility to travel between multiple work locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
