Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med | Surg
Location: Summit, NJ
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Schedule: 7pm – 7am (Every Other Weekend)
Pay Rate: $54/hr. on w2
**Non-Taxable Per Diem is provided to the qualified candidate living more than 50 miles from the facility**
Summary:
The RN – Med/Surg is responsible for providing competent and comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric, in a medical/surgical setting. This role involves thorough patient assessments, effective documentation, and professional practice in line with established guidelines and protocols.
Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.
• Consistently demonstrate competent clinical skills in direct patient care activities.
• Provide competent and appropriate nursing care to the unit’s population.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation according to guidelines.
• Assume primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process.
• Respond to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Promote an environment centered around patient and family goals and objectives.
• Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including using two patient identifiers.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients.
• Individualize patient care according to procedure and type of anesthesia.
• Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on needs and condition changes.
• Assess patient understanding of surgical procedures and provide education.
• Support the completion of patient testing in a timely manner.
• Evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness.

Required Skills:

• 1 year of experience.

Certifications & Licenses:

• BLS – Required
• NJ State RN License – Required.
