Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: Richardson, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 08:30 AM – 05:00 PM (30-Minute Lunch)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team in Richardson, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, processing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering exceptional patient care. As the face of the organization, you will interact directly with patients, ensuring a comfortable and professional experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, and other specimen collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
  • Verify patient identification, demographic information, and obtain required signatures.
  • Ensure specimen labels are accurately completed in the patient’s presence.
  • Maintain required records, documentation, and compliance standards.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns professionally.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
  • Travel to and support multiple patient service centers or physician office locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
    • Pediatric collections
    • Geriatric collections
    • Capillary collections
  • Strong specimen collection and processing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and patient confidentiality.
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if required for location coverage).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service-based setting.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be flexible to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments when required.
  • Willingness to travel between multiple sites with minimal notice.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and represent the organization positively at all times.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
