Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary:
- The Phlebotomist II serves as the primary patient contact and is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, including Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, and experience working in a fast-paced Patient Service Center (PSC) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including Pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Accurately collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure specimen labels are accurate and completed in the patient's presence.
- Maintain required records, documentation, and data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
- Provide excellent customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
- Adhere to all safety, compliance, confidentiality, and quality standards.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections as required.
- Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed to support business operations.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Strong specimen processing and labelling experience.
- Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
- Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between locations if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
- Experience in retail, healthcare, or service-oriented customer environments.
