Day-to-Day Responsibilities / Workload
The Engineer will support the validation, testing, and deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) 2.0 metering solutions. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure technical feasibility, interoperability, and quality assurance of metering systems and applications.
Technical & Vendor Engagement
- Support validation of AMI 2.0 metering solution hardware and functionality.
- Collaborate with metering vendors on solution development and enhancements.
- Support troubleshooting deployment support of AMI 2.0 technologies.
Testing & Evaluation
- Conduct functionality and hardware specification testing of qualified metering solutions.
- Support integration and system testing of metering solutions and grid management applications.
- Troubleshoot customer applications and field tools.
Field Readiness & Deployment Support
- Support AMI 2.0 Field Test pilot for foundational use cases.
- Create procedures and job aids for Field Technicians and Meter Operations.
- Support change management and coordination with stakeholders during pre-deployment.
Required Skills / Attributes
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in metering systems, smart grid technologies, or related engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of AMI systems, interoperability standards, and testing methodologies.
- Experience working lab environments and with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
