Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Floater
Location: St. Louis, MO
Duration: 3+ Month Contract
Schedule: Flexible between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (schedule assigned by client)
Job Summary:
- The Phlebotomist III – Floater serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection and specimen processing duties. This role requires traveling to multiple patient service centers and physician offices as needed, often with minimal notice.
- The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain required patient signatures to ensure specimen accuracy.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with company standards.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Travel to various Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician offices as required.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Maintain a professional environment and positive company image.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Strong specimen processing and patient identification skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules and locations.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy Certification (required in certain states).
- Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience.
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
