Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Position Type: Contract (5 Months)
Location: Fayetteville, GA (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Job Summary:
- The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent patient interaction skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- The Phlebotomist II ensures specimen integrity, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers exceptional customer service while adhering to all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, forensic, and clinical specimen collections following established procedures.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Label specimens accurately and obtain patient verification signatures as required.
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service and create a professional, patient-focused environment.
- Adhere to all safety, confidentiality, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Travel to multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and physician offices as needed.
- Work independently while managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Support organizational goals by demonstrating professionalism and leadership behaviours.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5+ years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Strong experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Proficiency in specimen collection, processing, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, if applicable.
- Flexibility to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, or at multiple locations as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in certain states where applicable).
- Previous experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service-oriented setting.
