Duties:
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Lead, Supervisor, Manager or Director, the employee performs a variety of Supply Chain duties in all four of the following Supply Chain departments: Receiving, Inventory & Distribution, Mail Room, and Courier Services. Team members will be assigned and trained to these four Supply Chain departments and their related duties according to the business requirements of CCHCS. The employee will follow the specific processes pertinent to each Supply Chain department while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
Job Responsibilities:
-10% Accurately sorts and separates incoming and outgoing mail.
-Meters outgoing mail and packages, processes and prepares presorted mail.
-Follows established pick-up and delivery routes for mail and packages.
-Verifies required signatures and maintains required supporting documentation.
-10% Delivers to and maintains clinical supply carts, using standard PAR and Kanban (two-bin) replenishment system standard operating procedures.
-Accurately scans empty Kanban bins to create pick tickets for supply replenishment.
-Accurately picks stock to physically replenish standard PAR and Kanban bins.
-Cleans Kanban supply bins according to standard operating procedure.
-10% Delivery of all items based on established routes to various Cook Health Care System facilities.
-Performs all computer and handheld functions necessary to process and track various aspects of shipments.
-10% Operates delivery vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
-Reports damages, maintenance and operating problems with the vehicle and coordinates routine and periodic maintenance services with Supervisor/Supply Chain leader and the Cook Children’s Health Care System Fleet Manager.
-Refuels and secures vehicle at the end of each workday and follows vehicle safety check procedures.
-Maintains a daily log of stops made, service provided, and mileage driven.
-Verifies Toll Tag expenses as requested.
-Responsible for pick-up of internal returned goods.
-10% Prioritizes deliveries ex. overnight, temperature control and expedited customer requests.
-Stages received LTL (Less Than Load) items for same day delivery as well as restocking.
-Makes arrangements for delivery and pick up by various carriers.
-Accurately puts away received inventoried product in the correct Storeroom bin locations.
-10% Receives supplies and/or equipment entering the hospital using One Piece Flow process and Lawson and MSCM supply chain systems.
-Performs functions necessary to dock log, process, deliver, pick up and track various shipments utilizing the handheld and the computer.
-Identifies discrepancies or damaged shipments and reports to Procurement Department.
-Assists in trouble shooting problem packages.
-5% Correctly utilizes the following Supply Chain programs and functions: Mobile Supply Chain Management (MSCM), Kanban bin scanning, stock issue, stock transfer, and return stock processing using hand held device or computer, as appropriate.
-5% Ensures sufficient postage funds are available to operate mail equipment.
-Facilitates maintenance and repair of equipment.
-Performs backup processing of mail for other system companies with independent handling staff, i.e. Physicians Network and Health Plan, as required.
-5% Pick supplies to fill requisition orders and stat calls.
-Includes ensuring the documentation of the issuance of these items in Lawson.
-Ensures patient chargeable supplies are marked with appropriate label according to standard operating procedure.
