Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant II
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (40 hours/week), No weekends

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take patient vital signs, obtain patient history, and perform visit intake.
  • Perform venipuncture, laboratory duties, referrals, and patient phone message management.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient status.
  • Manage high call volumes with excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Organize workflow to ensure timely patient care.
  • Assist with procedures, maintain sterile fields, and label specimens.
  • Retrieve and transport medications, instruments, and supplies.
  • Stock exam rooms, maintain inventory, and order supplies.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and facilities.
  • Clean, sterilize, and perform high-level disinfection of Products, probes, instruments, and equipment.
  • Administer oral, intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous medications (excluding narcotics) as directed.
  • Reinforce patient education regarding medications, post-surgical care, diets, and treatment plans.
  • Process prescription refill requests as directed.
  • Arrange hospital admissions and patient care services.
  • Participate in compliance audits, chart reviews, and safety event reporting.
  • Assist with de-escalating patient concerns.
  • May precept new Medical Assistants.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar patient care role.
  • BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire.
  • One of the following certifications required upon hire:
    • Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
    • Medical Assistant (AMT)
    • Registered Medical Assistant (AAMP)
    • Registered Medical Assistant (American Allied Health)
    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
    • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP)
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain composed in difficult situations.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and document patient information accurately.

Preferences:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Hard-working team player with a patient-first approach.
  • Experience with patient intake, vital signs, phone triage, and basic prescription refill processing.
