Position Overview
- We are seeking an experienced Cash Operations Specialist Intermediate to perform critical cash functions and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our daily cash operations.
- This role ensures safe, accurate, and timely circulation of a significant value of currency/coin inventory to meet the needs of depository institutions and public citizens during normal operation and periods of natural disaster.
- This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to perform operational tasks.
Job Description
- Cash operations specialists work in a highly controlled, regulated, and secure environment with strict adherence to a set of defined rules and regulations in accordance with client guidelines and District cash procedures.
- Areas of responsibility include verifying, processing, and paying out currency by operating complex high-speed counting equipment and/or performing duties related to paying/receiving currency using proprietary accounting software that requires accounting skills.
- An Intermediate Operations Specialist requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience.
- Works to deliver day-to-day objectives maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Perform tasks that are typically routine, with specific instructions to achieve standard solutions.
- Works under moderate supervision for routine tasks
- May be required to apply discretion within braid operational boundaries and procedures.
- Makes minor adjustments to working methods.
- Communicates information that requires explanation or interpretation
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of cash operations and the prescribed operating procedures, safety, security, and compliance and/or production standards and controls
- Some experience operating high-speed processing equipment and/or paying and receiving currency and coin
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office along with other various online applications as needed for the role
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to one hundred pounds
- Valid driver’s license or certification to operate industrial truck (if required)

- Dependable with minimal work schedule flexibility
- May require extended work hours
- May require response during natural disasters or emergency situations
- Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary
Education & Experience
- High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Zero to 3+ years of relevant work experience in cash operations, currency processing, treasury, or related financial operations
