Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and customer-focused Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Service Representative I (PSR I) to join our team in Boca Raton, FL. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
The ideal candidate will primarily function as a Lobby Greeter, assisting patients with the check-in process using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets, answering questions, and creating a welcoming environment. In addition, the candidate will utilize basic phlebotomy skills and assist in draw rooms when coverage is needed. Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact with patients with empathy and professionalism are critical for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and provide a welcoming, professional experience.
- Assist patients with check-in procedures using kiosks and handheld devices.
- Answer patient questions and address concerns with courtesy, care, and compassion.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and integrity of the lobby and waiting areas.
- Support phlebotomy operations by covering breaks and assisting in draw rooms as needed.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly to build trust and confidence.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of patient records.
- Adhere to safety, quality, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
- Perform daily activities accurately and within designated timelines under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (No exceptions).
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of customer-facing experience required (Retail, Home Health Aide, Hospitality, Healthcare, or similar environments).
- Some prior phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience with data entry and keyboarding skills required.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
