Location: Lithonia, GA
Position Type: 3+ Months of Contract
Schedule: Mon – Thu 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
Hours: 37.50 Hours/Week
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires excellent phlebotomy skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with established procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are labelled correctly in the patient’s presence.
  • Explain collection procedures to patients while maintaining professionalism and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Follow infection control, safety, HIPAA, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while interacting with patients, clients, and healthcare staff.
  • Travel between Patient Service Centres and physician offices as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Required Experience:

  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience performing Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
  • Previous experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
  • Basic keyboard and data entry skills.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient venipuncture and specimen collection techniques.
  • Specimen processing and labelling.
  • Strong patient identification and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, safety, and infection control practices.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations, if required.
