Job Title: EKG Technician
Location: Salinas, CA 93901
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)
Schedule: 8-Hour Variable Shifts | 40 Hours/Week
Pay: $30 – $40/hr – W2
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced EKG Technician to join a busy Cardiology Department in Salinas, CA. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitoring, cardiac stress testing, and related patient care activities. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cardiologists and healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including:
- 12-Lead EKGs
- Holter Monitor placement and scanning
- Cardiac Stress Testing (Treadmill)
- Process and document test results using the MUSE System.
- Notify the Cardiologist or Cardiology Supervisor immediately of any critical or abnormal findings.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Enter and update patient information in electronic medical records.
- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on cardiology equipment.
- Participate in departmental Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Deliver age-appropriate patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current BLS Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider).
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing:
- EKGs
- Holter Monitoring
- Cardiac Stress Testing (Treadmill)
- Experience using the MUSE System.
- Strong documentation and computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
