Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST | Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM CST
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Travel: Candidate must be able to travel to the sister site in Union City, TN every Thursday.
Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) to join our team in Jackson, TN. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care while performing high-quality blood specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and specimen collection using established procedures.
- Collect blood specimens from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Prepare, label, process, and package specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Obtain patient initials/signatures after venipuncture to verify specimen labeling accuracy.
- Maintain specimen integrity and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
- Support multiple Patient Service Center (PSC) and physician office locations as needed.
- Travel to the Union City sister site every Thursday.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
- Strong specimen processing and labeling experience.
- Excellent patient interaction and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer and keyboard/data entry proficiency.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to travel between assigned locations.
- Flexible to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or additional hours as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (required only where mandated by state regulations).
- Minimum of 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience.
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced outpatient laboratory and patient service environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Must adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and dress code requirements.
