Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Potential for Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM; Rotational Saturdays, 6:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate patient identification while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will possess strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the capability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect high-quality blood specimens from patients using established phlebotomy procedures.
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify patient information and ensure proper specimen labeling and documentation.
  • Explain collection procedures to patients to create a comfortable and professional experience.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards at all times.
  • Support a positive patient experience by demonstrating professionalism and exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required).
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Previous customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service-oriented environment.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed based on business requirements.
