Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to provide high-quality patient care and specimen collection services. The ideal candidate will perform venipuncture and specimen processing while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with established laboratory procedures. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other specimen collection procedures on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
· Prepare, label, process, and package specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
· Verify patient identity and demographic information prior to specimen collection.
· Obtain required patient initials and signatures after specimen collection to verify specimen labeling accuracy.
· Maintain specimen integrity throughout the collection and processing workflow.
· Accurately complete required documentation and maintain patient records.
· Follow quality assurance, safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
· Provide exceptional customer service while creating a comfortable experience for patients.
· Support multiple patient service centers or physician office locations as needed.
· Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection according to established procedures.
· Complete daily assignments accurately and within established timelines.
· Communicate professionally with patients, coworkers, and healthcare staff.
Required Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or other medical training preferred.
· Phlebotomy certification preferred (required where applicable by state regulations).
· 1–3 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
· Experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
· Strong specimen processing and labelling experience.
· Basic computer and data entry skills.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Patient Service Center (PSC).
· Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
Additional Requirements:
· Reliable transportation may be required.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record if travel is required.
· Ability to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice.
· Flexible to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or on-call shifts based on business needs.
· Ability to follow all company policies, safety procedures, and professional dress standards.
