Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Ocala, FL
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Rotational Saturdays

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Ocala, FL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection and specimen processing duties. The ideal candidate will have recent phlebotomy experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
  • Ensure patient identification and specimen integrity at all times.
  • Explain collection procedures to patients and establish a calm, professional, and trusting environment.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing as required.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Support process excellence initiatives and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Represent the organization positively with patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
  • Complete daily activities accurately and within established timelines under the guidance of the Area Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience required.
  • Must have hands-on phlebotomy experience within the last 3-4 months.
  • Strong blood collection skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Basic computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) or more years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required for candidates working in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service-oriented environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Flexible schedule and availability based on business needs.
  • Willingness to work rotational weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Must-Have Requirements

Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience
Phlebotomy experience within the past 3-4 months (mandatory)
Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws
High School Diploma or GED
Data entry and customer service skills
