RN – Postpartum (Travel)

Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: Every other weekend, holidays as needed, and floating to other facilities as required.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Postpartum to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for postpartum patients. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal maternal and newborn outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective postpartum nursing care.
• Assess, monitor, and document maternal and newborn conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery and newborn care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
• Float to other facilities/departments as needed.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or Compact State.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• NRP Certification required within 6 months of hire (if applicable).
• BSN preferred (or obtained within five years per facility policy).
• Previous Postpartum/Mother-Baby nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting patients (up to 50 lbs.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and float as required.
