Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Travel)

Assignment Duration: 8 Weeks

Schedule: 36 Hours per Week (3 x 12-Hour Shifts)
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established clinical standards and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Required Qualifications

Active RN license in South Carolina or a Compact (NCSBN) state (candidate must not be a permanent resident of South Carolina)

BLS (AHA) Certification – Required

NRP Certification – Required

Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience

OB Operating Room circulating experience – Required

OB scrub experience – Preferred

Ability to work weekends and holidays

Demonstrated ability to practice at the full scope of Labor & Delivery nursing
Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.

Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and modify care plans as appropriate.

Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.

Collaborate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Advocate for patients while maintaining ethical and professional nursing standards.

Circulate in the OB Operating Room and assist with surgical procedures as required.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement practices.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
