Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST)
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to provide exceptional patient care while performing blood collection and specimen processing in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working with patients of all ages. This role may support Patient Service Centers, physician offices, or other assigned locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and specimen collection using established procedures.
- Collect high-quality blood specimens while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Process, label, package, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information prior to specimen collection.
- Ensure specimens are accurately labelled in the patient’s presence and obtain required patient verification/signatures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation following company policies.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance procedures.
- Provide professional, compassionate service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Travel to multiple Patient Service Centers or physician offices as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience.
- Experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
- Strong specimen collection, labelling, and processing skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer, keyboard, and data entry skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Minimum of 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience.
- Previous customer-facing experience in healthcare, retail, or service environments.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or on-call shifts when required.
- Willingness to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if travel is required).
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and follow established procedures.
