Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team in Gallatin, TN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, processing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Candidates must have extensive pediatric phlebotomy experience. Experience working with pediatric patients is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Ensure accurate specimen collection, labeling, processing, and preparation for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information prior to specimen collection.
- Obtain patient initials/signatures following venipuncture to verify specimen labeling accuracy.
- Maintain accurate documentation and required records.
- Follow established safety, infection control, and quality assurance procedures.
- Provide professional, compassionate patient care while explaining collection procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
- Support operations in Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician office locations as needed.
- Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
- Pediatric collections (extensive pediatric experience required)
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Strong venipuncture and specimen processing skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required only where mandated by state law).
- Two years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC).
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.

- Reliable transportation may be required for coverage at multiple patient service locations.
