Shift: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5×8 | 40 Hours/Week | No Weekends | No Holidays | No On-Call
Pay Range: $70-$75/hr.

Required Experience

Required

  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a busy hospital setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Education

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid NJDEP License.
  • ARRT or NMTCB Registry.
  • BLS (American Heart Association).

Job Summary

  • Select and operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and perform radionuclide imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals while ensuring radiation safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate diagnostic images using PACS and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain records of radioactive materials in accordance with State, Federal, and NRC regulations.
  • Deliver patient-centered care while adhering to organizational standards and safety guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide immobilization devices as required.
  • Select and operate Nuclear Medicine equipment.
  • Evaluate images using the PACS system to ensure proper identification and diagnostic quality.
  • Provide radiation protection for patients and staff in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Perform radionuclide procedures, including organ imaging, function studies, and assist physicians in the therapeutic use of radioisotopes.
  • Prepare radioactive tracer compounds for patient use.
  • Calibrate equipment and assay radionuclides.
  • Receive and inspect radiopharmaceutical packages according to State and NRC guidelines.
  • Maintain records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and contamination-free conditions for rooms, equipment, and personnel.
  • Follow NRC, State, and JCAHO guidelines and practices.
  • Rotate work assignments as needed, including Cardiology and PET/CT.
  • Perform daily clerical duties using EPIC, TeleTracking System, Nuclear Medicine Information System, patient scheduling, and computer processing associated with patient studies.
  • Greet patients utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
  • Adhere to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies.
  • Identify and respond to the needs of the patient population served.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers based on developmental, educational, cultural, language, hearing, and visual needs.
  • Adhere to the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies.
