Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 03 months Contract
Schedule: Day shift, shift will vary
Hourly rate: $21/hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Duties:

• Patient Care: Venipuncture/phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, patient assistance, room preparation, and physician procedure support.
• Patient Flow: Manage schedules, patient flow, appointments, registration, and demographic/insurance updates.
• Clerical/EMR: Maintain medical records/charts, process reports and referrals, complete forms, enter physician orders, and prepare prescription refill requests.
• Insurance: Verify insurance, complete pre-certifications, and coordinate procedure/surgery scheduling as needed.
• Medical Supplies: Inventory, order, restock supplies, check expiration dates, and dispose of items per policy.
• Infection Control: Prepare and sterilize exam rooms/instruments; follow PPE, infection control, and safety protocols.
• Documentation: Maintain logs for medications, refrigeration, sterilization, point-of-care testing, crash cart, and other required areas.
• Communication: Answer phones, provide patient/family instructions, and communicate effectively with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
• Skills: Basic MS Office, medical terminology, HIPAA knowledge, EMR/billing systems preferred, strong communication and telephone etiquette.
• Physical: Light physical activity; general office/clinical environment.

Certifications & Licenses:

• BLS certification
• Medical Assistant certificate

Education: High School Diploma/GED
