Job Title: Travel RN – Medical/Surgical
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; 36 or 48 hours/week available; weekends may be required; no call; floating may be required
Job Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Care for Med/Surg patients with a focus on post-surgical populations, including orthopedics, general surgery, and neuro patients.
• Administer medications and treatments and monitor effectiveness and side effects.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess patient/family learning needs and provide appropriate education.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
• Maintain safe and effective patient care in a 5:1–6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on staffing.
• Float to other areas as needed.

Requirements:

• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment before submission.
• Active RN license in the state of employment or compact RN license.
• BLS certification through AHA required.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Must be willing to float.

Preferences:

• EPIC experience is a bonus.
• Med/Surg experience with post-surgical, orthopedic, general surgery, and neuro patients preferred.
