Job Title: Travel RN – Medical/Surgical
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; 36 or 48 hours/week available; weekends may be required; no call; floating may be required
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Care for Med/Surg patients with a focus on post-surgical populations, including orthopedics, general surgery, and neuro patients.
- Administer medications and treatments and monitor effectiveness and side effects.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess patient/family learning needs and provide appropriate education.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
- Maintain safe and effective patient care in a 5:1–6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on staffing.
- Float to other areas as needed.
Requirements:
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment before submission.
- Active RN license in the state of employment or compact RN license.
- BLS certification through AHA required.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Must be willing to float.
Preferences:
- EPIC experience is a bonus.
- Med/Surg experience with post-surgical, orthopedic, general surgery, and neuro patients preferred.
