- Monday through Thursday: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization for patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires excellent phlebotomy skills, strong patient interaction abilities, and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will create a positive patient experience by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and technical expertise while performing specimen collection and processing duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect high-quality blood specimens from patients using established procedures and best practices.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
- Ensure all collections are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Maintain required records, documentation, and patient information with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Provide exceptional customer service and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients.
- Explain testing procedures clearly and professionally to patients.
- Perform daily tasks accurately and within established timelines under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience drawing blood from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
